The National Gallery of Denmark

The National Gallery is a captivating experience and the largest art museum in Denmark.

The museum also called Statens Museum for Kunst (in Danish) is Denmark’s largest art museum, featuring outstanding collections of Danish and international art from the past seven centuries. Especially beautiful is the collection of Danish Golden Age art and one of the world's best Matisse collections.

The museum has a varied selection of art - from the Renaissance to modern and contemporary art. Temporarily the Museum also shows special exhibitions and happenings.

The museum is also for kids

The museum organises activities for kids at some weekends. Come, discover, share and create new knowledge and art in the company of other young people. Meet artists and art researchers willing to listen to - and challenge - your ideas.

Explore a virtual and physical environment of events, workshops, exhibitions, creative centres, art production and state-of-the-art technology made for and by young people. Some activities are only funny and related to children who understand the Danish language.

The Danish National Art Library

The library is open to anyone interested in visual arts and architecture. Read, touch, leaf, and browse through the fascinating history of these two art forms.
