Tromsø Villmarkssenter
Tromsø Villmarksenter is Europes leading dog sledding company and have 30 years of experience.
This place is one of the biggest adventure attractions in Norway. It is placed just 25 minutes drive outside Tromsø city you find this authentic Vildmarkssenter. They have here more than 300 Alaskan huskies and the centre offers a wide range of activities throughout the whole year. Here you have the possibility to experience the special Arctic nature and they offer adventures for all levels and all kinds of people.
In 1988 the company started as a home for dogs and is owned by Tove Sørensen who has participated 19 times in Finnmarksløpet, which is Europe`s longest dog sledding race and Tove has also participated in dog sled race in Alaska. Today her son Thorkild also has an important role in the company.

Winter and Summer activities
Dog sledding is one of the main activities in the winter together with Northern Lights chases from October to March.
In summer you can experience the midnight sun which is a special arctic natural phenomenon where you have the daylight all 24 hours and you take on a hike in the mountains or glacier or discover the nature in a kayak as the centre provide differently kayaking tours
All year you can visit the centre and meet the Huskies and if you have a special request you are welcome to contact the Vildmarkssenter.
You can buy a dog sled adventure from few hours and up to 5 days and choose if you want to take on a trip with guides or you wish to lead your own Husky team.
Reindeer Sled - a special Sami activity
In the centre they also have reindeer and you can get a magnificent Sami experience on a reindeer sled and get insights into the local Sami lifestyle.
Public transport to the Vildmarkssenter
Take the bus nr. 420 from Tromsø. You can buy tickets on the bus (only with cash) or download the app Troms Mobillett in your app store.
