The Open Air Museum near Copenhagen

Visit one of the oldest and largest open-air museums in the world nearby Copenhagen.

Not far from the centre of Copenhagen, in Lyngby, you can go on a tour through historical Danish traditions and culture at the Open Air Museum. The buildings, gardens, domestic animals and objects present Denmark's history from 1650 to 1940.

It is an impressive living exhibition showing the conditions in which people lived and their culture up until the middle of the 20th century.


The farmer's life

Get a taste of how the country life was, the farmer and the lord of the manor. See how they slept, the food, and how they worked.

The houses were recreated both outsides, and inside, so you get an immediate impression of how it was.

The Open Air Museum arrange events throughout the season, and it is a recommended attraction for children.
