Lake Vänern is the third biggest lake in Europe with a water surface of 5,650 km2 and a coastline of 4800km. The lake offers Europe’s largest freshwater archipelago with over 22.000 islands and islets for you to discover. There are 14 municipalities and three provinces around the same inland sea.

Regarding lakes, Lake Vänern is the most important commercial one in Sweden. You will find 38 species of fish here, and the lake is important for sport- and recreational fishermen.
